The purpose of this project was to create a PSA for every level of elections, those being town/county, state, and country. I wanted this project to have a gritty, early 2000s feel to it, similar to the “You wouldn’t steal a movie” anti-piracy ad. However, I wanted this project to rely heavily on kinetic typography rather than film.

Visual Reference
The first steps I took were to research visual style. As mentioned, the early 2000s anti-piracy ad, but I also researched ads that used kinetic type.
Vote Now PSA Storyboards
After getting a visual understanding, I moved on to story boarding. Here I focused on layout and scene transition. Using the story boards, I developed several assets for each scene. I gathered grunge textures to give the visual the gritty look I wanted and created vector graphics for the larger shapes.

Once the assets were finished, I took them into After Effects and began animating. Here the focus was timing the visuals to the music and giving enough time to the viewer to read the type on screen.
